Nanowire Single-Photon Sources
Welcome to the homepage for the nanowire single-photon source (SPS) activities at DTU Fotonik. Our objective is to develop high-efficiency nanowire-based SPSs for quantum cryptography and for quantum information processing.
A recently discovered screening effect in high-index-contrast low-diameter nanowires is exploited, an effect promising improved tolerance towards the fabrication-induced geometry imperfections currently limiting the efficiency of existing micropillar SPSs.
The project aims at establishing the physical understanding necessary to engineer a nanowire SPS with effiency approaching 100 %.
